NRO Fishing Guide, Leo Cook’s River Report 2/28/26
Northern Rivers Outfitters fishing guide, Leo Cook, gave us our first river report to give to our customers! Thanks Leo!! Take a read and give us a call! Lots of open March and April availability for Spring Steelhead fishing!
“Hey guys, hope all is well, pretty excited to be writing one of the first NRO fishing reports. Kam and Monica are doing a great job keeping the J and J River Guide legacy alive, now renamed Northern Rivers Outfitters!
As far as the river goes, I’ve been spending most of my time in the middle to lower sections. I did jump up to the top section, to fish a day of swingin with my good friend and client Mitch . Had a couple of good rips but that was all. The water has a nice tannic stain in the middle river. I’ve been finding most of my fish on 10 and 12 mm beads but don’t at all hesitate to throw an 8mm as the water drops. As my good buddy says, “orange ones, and green ones, rocks and logs.”
Over the last two weeks, I have floated through almost every section of river, there is a sketchy tree in every one of them that requires precaution. Please row and launch carefully.
Tight lines, Leo!”

Again, give us a call! We’d be excited to be your fishing charter and get you out on the rivers with us! Leo has a couple prime weekend dates still available if you’d like to request him! March 19-21 and March 26-28. These weekend dates fill fast so call now! 616 295 8373
