Best weeks for fall salmon season:
Salmon start coming into the Pere Marquette River, from around labor day until the second week of October. Fresh Salmon are pouring into the rivers throughout September as the nights get colder. The lower river is where our guides will target during what we call early season- late August, early weeks of September. The PM is known for its very strong, consistent numbers of Chinook salmon or King Salmon during the annual salmon runs. Peak Pere Marquette salmon fishing is from about the second week of September through the second week of October. The transition from Salmon to Steelhead begins the second-third week of October offering both species while they overlap each other in the river.
