Muskegon River

Guided Steelhead Fishing Charters:

Steelhead fishing trips available on the Muskegon River from late October through early May. Michigan Steelhead fishing has had a rapidly growing interest for the last decade. Techniques vary depending on time on year. Throughout the late fall months, these fish are chrome and fight like bulls! Early mornings when targeting these fish, our guides may have you use thunder sticks. Catching a steelhead on a thunder stick is a thrill! Later into the day and throughout the winter months more deep water nymphing and bead use is common. Steelhead start spawning in the rivers beginning in March. The March spring steelhead fishing is a peak booking time of year so be sure to book early for the spring spawning season.

Guided Salmon Fishing Charters:

Salmon fishing trips begin on the Muskegon in late September. The Salmon push into the river heavily until late October during spawning season. Book EARLY for fall Salmon trips as they fill up very fast! Get ready to catch the thrill of a lifetime fighting these large fish into the boat. Landing these river monsters is a thrill that keeps anglers coming back every year!

Trout and Bass Fishing Charters:

Brown Trout can be targeted all year around! Trout fishing trips in April to late May can be a riot for avid trout anglers. Techniques in the spring to early summer include streamer fishing, dry fly fishing, and nymphing. If you have a special technique interest in the spring and summer for either trout mousing trips or evening dry fly fishing during the hex hatch be sure to contact us for more details to arrange this more specialized type of trip, and we can arrange a guide for you later in the day/ and or after dark. Throughout the summer the Muskegon can also be very good for Rock Bass, Pike, Small and Large Mouth Bass. If you have a specific species in mind you want to target, please note that when booking so our guides can be prepared with type of equipment they stock in their boat.

Please keep in mind, when targeting trout throughout the summer months, our guides are paying specific attention to the water temps. We take special care in protecting these fragile species. Fish become much more tired and worn out in the hot temperatures and we try to protect the fish by not targeting them when the waters warm up too much. If you have a trip booked and the temperature is too high, our guides will contact you to talk about options!
