Pere Marquette River Salmon Fishing Report-Current Salmon Conditions with Northern Rivers Outfitters!

Michigan fall salmon season is here! The countdown is over and we are IN the midst of the annual fall salmon run. Thousands of King Salmon and Chinook Salmon are currently pushing up the river out of Lake Michigan and into the legendary Pere Marquette River near Baldwin, Michigan.

Early season king salmon fishing can be some of the most exciting salmon fishing times the run has to offer! We say this because the fish have just moved out of the lake and hunting these giants down is part of the thrill. These fish are extremely fresh and fight HARD once caught up providing anglers the thrill they are looking for! Current river conditions are running on the lower and clearer side. This makes stealth and presentation critical as well as knowing where the salmon are holding being critically important. We are already starting to see the kings spread out a bit and work their way into the middle river. Having a local and experienced guide makes early season salmon fishing a five star event! Our guides are on the rivers every day now and pass knowledge amongst each other making their tool box even deeper.

As the nights start cooling off and we get additional rainfall, we expect another solid push of salmon to push into the river system making the best yet to come throughout the next several weeks. Northern Rivers Outfitters will continue monitoring the river conditions, water levels and temps, and the progression of the salmon movement throughout the season. As of 8/24 we still have plenty of availability for the early season dates (now to Sept 8). We also have a hand full of mid season dates left available as well as late season throughout October.
